Franz is Partner at i5invest, responsible for Corporate Development / M&A. He is based in Berlin & Frankfurt and leads Corporate Development and Strategic Business Development projects for technology and financial services companies. With over 20 years of experience in the banking industry, he has built a strong network with international corporates & financial institutions, successful entrepreneurs as well as leading investors.
Through leveraging his international & industry experience in New York, London and Frankfurt as well as his corporate finance expertise, Franz helps tech companies define their strategy, gain market traction, scale and exit internationally.
Franz started his career at Merrill Lynch and later at Bank of America working in various international locations. Subsequently, he was Senior Banker at Citigroup, being responsible for the holistic & global coverage of financial institutions in Germany. Franz advised on numerous M&A buy-side & sell-side deals, equity & debt capital markets transactions as well as financing & hedging deals for international corporates and financial institutions. He has worked with Allianz, Munich Re, Bayer, Deutsche Telekom and well-known investment companies, among others.
Franz studied Business Administration in Germany and England, specializing in Corporate Finance. He wrote his thesis about equity restructuring alternatives in cooperation with Lehman Brothers. In addition to his work, Franz is passionate about his family, sports, adventure travel & outdoor activities.
